The 313 Stormer gene code has gone through a lot of changes since Taarnish was originally created. To ensure that an enemy can not find a common weakness amongst Stormers, several variations have been applied to the basic Stormer gene code to keep diversity amongst the creations. Below are some of the mutations common in 900 SD along with their points cost if the GM allows them. These mutations are only allowed for the original Malice 313, as the 711 Xeno and 714 Chagrin variants are currently too new. Each mutation can only be taken once.
A low-level yellow BPN, this is a retrieval mission with a difference. Originally written for a Nightfall competition, this BPN involves a trip into downtown to locate a missing Shiver. However, all is not what it seems.
The three articles below are in response to Dava's request for thoughts about SLA v2. The first is my thoughts on the setting, then the system and finally my ideas for a possible cover.
Stats: STR 4, DEX 5, DIA 7, CONC 6, CHA 5, COOL 5.
Advantages: Looks good 3, Figure good 2, Sleeper good 2.
Disadvantages: Reputation bad (known to believe in the supernatural) 3.
My preferred level of SLA Industries games are when the players all have starting Operatives, and are against threats such as gang members, Shivers, DarkNight and normal civilians. Mix in a few Carrien and other monsters and the Sla system seems to work at its best. However, when characters or monsters reach the limit of the system (for example, high level stats, skills to match and big guns), then combat with lower level threats seems a lot slower and less fun.
Imagine a chess game. Two opponents sitting in a room trying to manoeuver their chess pieces in to a winning pattern that will defeat the other player.
