The process of creating solid matter out of Flux, using a different and more theoretical kind of Equation has been being used for centuries. Even before 0SD, Foldships navigated the universe, piloted by Ebons wearing Deathsuits, carrying Flintlocks for protection... The list of practical applications for Ebb Reactive material is practically limitless. But very complex.
The principle of Wave-Form is really a combination of Telekinesis and Illumination, blending and altering the techniques to concentrate less on the effects and more on the actual "Real" science behind the origins of these effects. Altering the shape or frequency of a wave has the potential to be either a very interesting display of power or a practically unstoppable weapon.
The principles of Electric Ebb have been studied and researched since at least 400 SD. The main concept behind the application of the Ebb to electrical energy is the manipulation of energy in the real world by the use of Flux. Electric Ebb is mainly a refinement of the Illumination and Blast schools of Ebb and is mainly studied by the more combat orientated Ebons and Brain Wasters.
This Ebon list isn't going to be to everyone's taste. I know this, but it is to my taste: I like to relate real world science to rping as much as I can. Some people will resent the fact that these abilities use only the level of mathematics we have in 1997, and will argue that advances in maths would have occured in 900SD. My answer is that I view Ebb ability as something that Intruder has "allowed" for the ebon race, and it's up to him how complex Ebb maths can get. If he says that "i" is as deep as it gets, that's that.
The 950th anniversary of the birth of the world of progress brings with it a wealth of new products from one of the companies that have been around for all of those 950 years and many before them. Dark Lament's Science Friction department is proud to present the new range of accessories geared with the average and the not so average Sla Operative in mind. Over the next few pages we will be reviewing the new products from Science Friction and discussing what implications these products will have on the world of progress.
Ah, Necanthrope Jekyll. I've been meaning to get around to creating him as an actual character, and then using him as a regular NPC in a gaming situation. Lets see... His personality is one of someone fighting for control. While his Hyde persona is a Soul Weave, he also divides his emotions quite clearly between his two minds. Jekyll is a creature of fear and knowledge. He is one of the greatest minds in Dark Lament, and has been accumulating information about all sorts of subjects for centuries.
Although ebb skills have tried in the past to tamper with people's perception, they have always been limited in their function to the "outside", or peripheral zones of thought. So, ebons have been able to send messages through the "communication" skill, but real telepathy and tele-empathy has always eluded them. Intruder has now authorised Meny to educate suitable candidates (I+I, Business or Media) with this new ability.
"From the black spires marched his Army, cold hard and relentless. As they moved over the already-crushed landscape, broken buildings and houses torn in half by the Wind, the survivors cried out for salvation, their lamentations enough to melt the heart of any being with an inch of compassion within them. Attracted to the sound, the Army turn and to a man, cut their victims down, the cruel lightening whipping from their fingertips. Silence returns to the landscape, and far away, one-hundred mouths laugh in unison...
"Umm... 'Time To Die', and 'Out of Luck, Asshole' are good... 'Eat Me' was always popular... err..."
