Text: Investigate operative murder at the Redblock apartment complex in Uptown. Discover indentity of the killer and apprehend him/her. Contact Dept. of Investigation for further details.

GM background Killer background: The murder and the murders to come are committed by a somewhat known serial killer called Carrion. Carrion by day is a man named Gabriel Smith. Smith was a successful SLA op for many years and now runs the office of Cannibal Sector Expeditions in the Expedition Dept. Smith is extremely knowledable about the cannibal sectors and currently holds the record for the most completed BPNs in CS3. The cannibal sectors have had a great influence on Smith's life. It was there that Smith became enlightned and realized that carrions would multiply to such high numbers that they would eventually over run mort and kill everyone, except for Slayer. Every year on the anniversary of his enlightment he murders a squad of operatives that went on a BPN into the cannibal sectors and that should have died by carriens attacks. Infrequently throughout the year Smith becomes Carrion and goes down to the CSs to murder squads on BPNs when embattled with their foes. He also murders the media if present and acessible. He does this in order to support his belief. It was on his 10th trip into the CSs when he became enlightend. He an his squad had taken a green which had required the destruction of a nest of carriens in CS3. They had been given some incorrect information and were ambushed by the carriens. In the end the carriens were routed, but the whole squad was pretty much wiped out. During the heat of the battle, several grenades were thrown which resulted in smith getting trapped under some rubble knocked lose in the explosions. With his legs crushed under the rubble his headset com. knocked off, and his gun just out of reach, Smith remained trapped amoung his dead and rotting commrades and foes for four days. On the fourth day and quite insane, he commited suicide with a sharp piece of rubble in the hope that LAD would come and revive him. Upon being revived, smith appeared to be mentally stable. However, this wasn't the case. On the anniversary of his squad's death by carriens, he kills a squad.

Now to the actual BPN with more GM info following.

Part 1 murder 1.

A. when the ops contact the dept of investigation they answer any of the general questions and give them the following information:

Victim is Raymond Briggs human kick murder SCL:10a, Squad: Wild men.
A squad member found him dead this morning when he went to inquire about a missing firearm.
No sounds of a struggle was reported by any other tenant.
The op's apartment is on the 5th floor and the intruder came in through the window which was neatly cut out.

The crime scene is isolated and awaits the ops Raymond's apartment is pretty much the standard 1bed/living room with bath and kitchen. Ray is lying on the floor with one of his arms severed at the elbow which lies near the sink cabinet. Blood is sprayed and wiped all over the kitchen. Ray is wearing a set of black leather pants and appears to be a young male in his 20's with long black hair. A huge partially eaten pie (24" dia) and a glass of milk are on the table.

Evidence to be found

There are two bullet holes from 12.7 ap rounds (for good analytical rolls) in the wooden cabinets.
There are 5 stab wounds on Ray's body, and they appear to have been made by a piercing blade about 4-6in thick. The arm has been sawn off. there are no finger prints on his body but his blood contains high concentrations of Alice.
In the pie a blitzer is buried along with injection disposables. The gun belongs to Alan Segal the inquiring fellow squad member who lost his gun. It has his finger prints on it.

If the ops harass Alan he will tell them that he was at all night party with a 'lady freind' and that they came early the next morning to see if he had left his gun over at Ray's. He can produce alibis if nessessary.

Part 2 Murder 2

The next day the squad will get a second call from investigation reporting two more murders at the same complex. They now believe a serial killer is involved.

A Cloak div. Dark Finder was found decapitated at the building's parking complex.
Kirk Randall human scout SCL:10a, squad: Wild men was found dead by a cleaning maid this morning.

A. If the ops check out the Dark Finder they find that his head was sawed off by hits from behind. No shots from his gun were fired and his stump is crammed full of drug injection disposables. His blood contains high amounts of Alice.

B. When the ops got to Kirk's apartment they find everything extremely neat and clean. In the bedroom kirk's body hangs from a meat hook attached to a ceiling light fixture. A huge pool of blood is underneath him on the floor with drug injection disposables in it. The blood has Alice in it. Kirk's thoracic and abdominal cavity is hollowed out, but there are no entrails on the floor, they're just gone. Forensics show that his chest has been clawed out eaten through and traces of saliva can be found on the edges of the gore. Also, kirk's mouth is stuffed with something and is sewn shut with wire. If forced open insects, mostly beetles stumble out and land on the ground. The whole scene has a fear rating of 6. If analyzed the insects are found to be a species of carrion beetle unique to the cannibal sectors. Also around the face is are traces of an oily subtance. If analyzed it is found to normal cooking oil like one would use to make fries, but it contains traces of a chemical used to anesthesize small animals. The bedroom window has been cut and removed.

If they check with the building manager he tells them that 3 security cameras were destroyed.

Part 3 Murder 3

The day after Kirk's murder the ops will get another call from investigation about another murder.

Grant Stevens human strike scl:10a squad wild men. Stevens was found dead this morning at the Black Walks apartment complex, when disgusting smells emanated from his room and tenants went to check on him.

A.when the ops go to Grant's apartment om the third floor, they find it exceptionally neat and clean except for the bedroom. The bed is drenched in blood and Grant's body lies on it. Grant is an obese man in his 30's and has long red hair. His head has been sawed off and rests bside him and his fingers are all cut off and shoved in his mouth. His stomach is bulging and sewn up with black wire. Before the ops open it, they see the following phrase in blood above the bed on the wall "little Jack Carrion sat in a corner eating his christmas corpse. He stuck in a thumb and pulled out a carrien head instead". When they open the thoracic cavity stitches they find a carriens head and drug injection disposables in side. The whole scene has a fear rating of 7. It method of hollowing is identical to that of Kirk's. There are also high concentrations of Alice in the blood.

Part 4 the becoming

By now, there are only two members of the Wild Men Squad left. There should also be a fairly obvious pattern to the murders. If any of the ops are serial killer fans or do a lot of research on computers, cross-referencing this serial killer's activity with documents and databases of existing serial killers, they may already know or find some information about Carrion. Give them whatever information you think they diserve. Now that certain knowledge has been established, the ops may be able to predict Carrion's next moves and they may want to set up a stakeout for him. Of the two remaining ops in the squad, Frank Montgomary lives on the second floor of the Solid Foundations complex uptown, and Alan lives at the Red Block on floor 3.

Let the ops do anything they want to capture Carrion. Run Carrion as drescribed in the Carrion methodology section and as you would your own character. Remember always use your best judgement and your house rules. The BPN could go any direction from here.

The Squad recently completed a green BPN in Cannibal Sector 3 (the day before the first murder).

Carrion Methodology.

As part of his job, Smith oversees all of the Expeditionary BPNs that take place in the Cannibal Sectors. He is given access to all information on BPNs taking place in the cannibal sectors and information on the ops that go on them. He often sets up appointments with the squad he is planning to murder to go over the details of a particular BPN, and most importantly to learn more about them. He usually likes to murder the squad in the Cannibal Sector but this year he missed them, so he'll go to their appartments. He always leaves one squad member alive. In this case it will be Alan, the member he tried to frame by stealing his blitzer while he was at the party.

With all his information, espionage skills, and high tech equipment, he finds the most opportune time, then starts the murders. Before going to murder he shoots up Blaze UV and Bass. Using his stealth the entire time, he positions himself under the window using the his climbing equipment and Silver Back armour. Next he scans the area with his motion scanner to locate his victim's postion. This may alert him to snipers or ambushes. After that he uses his Diamond cutter to get him through the window to murder the victim. After murder he injects the victim with 10 doses of alice because "it makes the blood taste good". Then in a binge-like feeding frenzy he tears into the victims chest. Then he leaves.

He kills the ops in the order the come in the murder section with Frank last. If he successfully kills Frank the murders end.

If Carrion is in reasonable danger he is not averse to fleeing. He can always wait. In most cases he will use his flick scythe in combat. If it appears that it won't be very effective, he may switch to his GAK 19. Remeber in all cases use your best judgement for his actions. Treat him as if he were your own child.

Carrion's description and stats
Carrion is a human Male about 6ft tall and 195 lbs. When going out for the kill he wears his silver back armour which has been augmented by resin modeling to make the armor including the helmet resemble the body and face of a carrien. Over his armour he wears an open robe of black silk. He always carries his custom flick scythe with a serated edge. The flick scythe is also made to look as if it were composed of bones. His other equipment is described below.

Smith also has a 10,000c LAD account (this may be interesting). SLA still needs Smith and everyone knows what others in high postions often do.
