While the biogenetic implants are not exactly new technology, they still remain a dark-art as far as most people are concerned who don’t understand the process involved in manufacturing them. They are still the preferred choice by most companies apart from TT and Thresher, to augment their armies as they don’t need specialist surgeons and techs to repair complex cybernetics, run software upgrades or do the fine tuning.
Requiring massive amounts of chemicals and organic material to make, these processes tend to be big operations rather than haphazard little backyard businesses. For the man on the street with the money to spend it’s a mixed blessing, it means that supply can be assured, the implantation in-house top quality and they run their business on reputation alone so they wont sell you out, assuming they can be found.

Preferred by most people if they have a choice, the replacement is as good as the old part it replaces and for a little bit more money it can be made even better. They are substantially more expensive than a cybernetic replacement but not immediately obvious without blood work that the limb or organs are even there.
Sometimes a customer will want a better heart, lungs or any of the other larger internal organs that filter toxins from the bloodstream. Others sometimes want one that can do a little more for them in a pinch and this costs a pretty uni. But you might want to consider just how this might save your life.

Bone Marrow Replacement

Requires removal and injection of bone marrow into the femurs on both legs, originally a medical procedure to help combat cancers, these particular marrows do that and produce especially virile blood cells that combat virus and bacterial infections. This procedure has an 18hr recovery period.
Sometimes, mostly when you’ve done something truly terrible to a lot of people it pays to get a new face and avoid the hounds for a little longer. Also a favourite for anyone with the uni’s that’s just sick of looking like a hatful of smashed cat arseholes, or to cover up a multitude of sins and scars. Known in the trade as ‘hammering’ by the docs who do this sort of work, many of which are talented people and charge big money for the work they do.
Biogenetic Skin 12,000u
Requires 18hr recovery, mostly used to treat burn injuries and only normally grown as a whole body covering, including the face. Pick the colour, look, hair colour and even the texture.
Armoured Biogenetic Skin

Requires 18hr recovery, covers the entire body and the bonus to PV is cumulative with any other armour worn. It’s rough, tough and takes a beating, also feels like normal skin and has some additional defence against contact poisons, UV light and the user always counts as being armoured.

Highly specialised work carried out by rare and specialised doctors in the employ of Karma and Thresher, usually done in the first few weeks of foetal development. Its medical practice also corrects any handicaps or potential problems like genetic addictions, diseases and is based off the best of both parents DNA. In a competitive universe its probably the only real advantage some kids will get, this selects their looks, physical health, immunisations and attributes sorted out before they're even born.
Takes 1hr of surgery and 12hrs work on the foetus, can be carried to term by another female of the same species if the parent so chooses.
Probably the thing everyone thinks of when biogenetics are mentioned in conversation. Images of 900 years of TV showing ‘well hard’ boys and girls beating the piss out of people that don’t have the implants tended to ingrain and endear it to the population, most of which will never be able to afford them. Signing up to a corporate army is usually the easiest way to get them, if you don’t mind being sent to some horrible war world and being shot at by other people who are just, if not better equipped than you.
Of course, the popular option usually involves signing up, doing the training, getting patched in and buggering off over the fence as soon as you can so you can avoid being sent off to actually do the job you signed up for. All militarys hate deserters though so expect to be hunted for the rest of your life.
Class 1 Implants
Standard implants that can raise a STR or DEX stat by three points up to the racial maximum. While they do not increase the PHYS score, the STR ones can raise hits. They are obvious unless the extra money is paid to have the body re-skinned, otherwise they just replace the muscle and ligaments with the normal bulk of the owners natural structure.

Class 3 Implants
Massive blocks of high density muscle tissue, tendons and sinew, these are designed to be used with Class 2 implants and cannot be covered with replacement skin. There are few places that manufacture these outside of SLA and even fewer that will actually sell them without the money up front. They add to whatever Class 2 the owner has and exceed the racial maximum, adding to PHYS and hits directly.

Thick layer of bone that covers the large areas of the chest, face, arms legs and abdomen making the user look like an armoured beetle.

Most invasive operations, like patching in major cybernetic systems take approximately 3-10hours depending on how much is going in.
Patching in some minor cybernetics and biogenetics take between 1-3hours, most of this is up to the GM’s discretion.
Also, to make sure that its taking hold ok, there will be additional visits and possibly some more minor surgery over the next day or two while you're resting up. Add in about another 5-10hours there.
Unless of course you want to bounce out of there early and run off to whatever filthy hovel you call a home and hope it all works out. Staying onsite in care will cost you about 100-300u a day depending on how decent a set up is.
