Carrien - Tactics whilst hunting Operatives

How do you use Carrien?

I saw a program on Jackals once, which showed how they attack groups of animals. Most of the time they were happy eating whatever was left by other creatures (i.e. Lions) but on the odd occasion when they do attack, normally when their territory is under threat, they start off by following the prey, slowly surrounding it, whilst making sure that there is nothing around that can help the prey.

After following it for some time, the ones at the front will slowly start revealing themselves, to slow the prey down and trap it in the area that the Jackals want to ambush it in. If there is more than one prey, the Jackals at the rear will attack any stragglers, to reduce the numbers of the prey (i.e.: attacking the weak or older prey). Once the prey has been trapped in an area, the pack of Jackals will slowly get closer and closer, revealing where they are, but not so that they can be attacked. Then, one of the Jackals, normally the leader, will rush at which ever one of the prey is believed to be the biggest threat. This is then the signal for the others to attack, with some helping the leader and others attacking elsewhere. At this point they attack almost as a frenzy, not stopping until everything has been defeated.

Which is sort of how I use Carrien. Transfer all of their attack mentality away from a relatively flat grass plane and instead think of the nice three dimensional nature of a Cannibal Sector (or DownTown) and you have a lethal combination. My Carriens tend to herd opponents into disused buildings, where the Carrien can get close without being attacked and then attack from basements, ceilings, windows, doors and even walls. Their opponents only real chance is to stop which ever Carrien leads before it gets to them. This will confuse the Carrien as the majority are waiting for a signal to attack. Take out the second strongest Carrien as well and the rest of the pack might (if you're lucky) leave the area, thinking that their 'prey' is too powerful...
