Unreal Tournament Weapon Conversions

Seeing as I've been spending far too much time on Unreal Tournament recently I decided to convert some of the weaponry to the SLA world. The following links, which are the first half, are those available for use by Operatives.

Eventually I'll get around to developing the other half which are strictly for Props and War-World Vets (Redeemer, anyone?)

ITB Impact Hammer

"It might be noisy and look clumsy, but you touch one of these babies against a Stormer and it breaks it in half."

- HammerMan Harrison, SCL 6b, Male Human Contract Killer, Sponsored by ITB Weapons.

Quickly getting a reputation as the weapon to take down a Stormer, the Impact Hammer is the latest offering from ITB. Originally used a mining tool, the impact hammer uses a compressed gas system to propell its cylindrical hammer head from the gas chambers to the front of the weapon after the head of weapon has come into contact with an object. This impact release can be devastating to its target causing massive amounts of localised trauma. The compressors of the weapon can also be overloaded so that the hammer can be released with a greater force than normal. Alternatively the weapon is rebust enough to use without propelling the hammer, instead fixing it in the fired position and using as a club. The compressed gas cylinders works through use of a micro compressor which compressors natural air into the weapons chambers. It is not advised to use this weapon in a low-air or compressional-volatile environment. This weapon wil also not work in a vacuum or submerged.

  DAM PEN AD Weight Cost
Standard* 4** 2** 2** 5.0 kg 215c
UnCompressed 2 -1 --- ---

*The weapon requires 2 phases for the compressors to retract the hammer and charge the hammer between firing. This can be done prior to use and can be locked in a 'ready to fire' position. A non skilled fighter uses the Impact Hammer at -3 to their Unarmed Combat Skill.

**When the weapon is over compressed the user gains an additional +2DAM, +1PEN, +1AD per active phase that they compress the weapon. During this time the weapon becomes increasingly difficult to control, making the user -1 to hit for every phase that they compress the weapon. This can only be done for a maximum of 3 active unless they have the seperate Impact Hammer (STR) skill (see below). The weapon can not be locked as 'ready to fire' whenoverly compressed. Although safe for normal use the Impact Hammer can explode if over compressed (if a double 1 is rolled when attacking with an overly compressed Impact Hammer the hammer jams and the compressed air canisters explode causing great harm to the user.)

NEW SKILL: Impact Hammer (STR)

This skill governs the use of the ITB Impact Hammer allowing the user more control over the use of the hammer, especially when over compressing the weapon. As well as negating the standard penalty when using the weapon, the user can over charge the weapon an additional phase for every five ranks he has in the skill ie: rank five can overcharge for 4 phases, rank ten can overcharge for 5 phases.

GA 58 Enforcer

"Everyone has a Fen603 and even the Blitzer is starting to become too common. No, if you want a decent gun get a 12mm GA Enforcer and show people you mean business."

- SlideBack, SCL 5C, Female Human Operative with GunHeads Squad.

Trying to step away from the cheap end market, the Enforcer is GA's offering to rival the success of the Fen 603 and the power of the Blitzer. This long-slide semi-automatic pistol uses 12mm ammo, sacrificing the capacity of the Fen603 for greater damage potential. The ammo clip is front mounted on the weapon and must be double cocked to load an initial round. This is due to one round being placed in a 'pre-load' chamber connecting the amo clip to the actual firing chamber. In combat situations it is advised to change clips when one round is still in the pre-load chamber to prevent the extra time taken to double-jack the slide. With a ceramic frame and gas operated double action, the Enforcer comes with a life-time guarantee. The Enforcer can be fired on single or double shot, the only disadvantage being the high level of recoil when used in dual fire mode. The weapon also comes with integral laser painter, digital 'non-glow' ammo counter, and can be easily fitted with stock and sights. Due to the position of the ammo clip the weapon is not capable of fitting a silencer or flash suppressor. A Stormer/Shaktar version of the weapon is soon to be made available which will store the clip in the handle of the gun removing the necessity for the pre-load chamber.

GA58 Enforcer 15(+1*) 12mm 1/2** 7/10 15m 2.0kg 560c
GA59 Enforcer*** 15 12mm 1 8 16m 2.0kg 610c ****

*One round must be loaded into the pre-load chamber from the clip before the gun can be fired. It is possible to hand load this round and then load a full clip afterwards. This takes one active phase prior to insertion of the clip.

**The gun has the capability to fire two rounds in one phase due to the design of the pre-load chamber. This requires a standard to hit roll with any success of 11+ meaning the first round has hit the target and any success of 15+ meaning that the second round has also hit. Both rounds must be to the same target (and location). A double 1 when dual firing means that the pre-load round has caught in the internal mechanism and misfired, destroying the gun and doing damage to the user.

***The GA59 Enforcer is the Stormer/Shaktar variant of the GA58 and requires a hand span (thumb to little finger) of over 300mm. This does not have a preload chamber and stores the ammunition in the handle of the gun. It also does not have the dual fire capability of the GA58.

****Please note that GA is not a member of the Racial Equality Program.

GA 740 Minigun

"I've been using the prototype for the '74 over sixteen months now. It hasn't jammed once, unlike the Fen p-o-s I used to use."

- Phase, SCL 4E, Human Male Contract Killer, Sponsored by General Armaments.

Following their merger with an unannounced company, GA has been taking the guns market by storm in the past six months. One of their newest creations is the GA740, a minigun to directly rival the FEN706/808 and also the MAL Assault Cannon. With a simplistic design based around a resin laminated carbon fibre frame, the GA740 can quickly be broken down into its component pieces, allowing for over-heated barrels to be exchanged with ease. The actual firing mechanism is fully contained although can be easily accessed in case of jams. The GA740 can use either 150 round belt ammunition or 40 round box clips. With the option of connecting a waldo unit, and the choice of semi-automatic or automatic fire the GA740 is definitely a serious contender as a squad support weapon.

GA 40-40 Sniper Rifle

"Single-shot, double-tap or semi-automatic fire - everything you need in a sniper rifle."

- Ghost, SCL 6C, Female Wraith Raider Solo Operative. Currently working for the Department of Misinformation.

Again competing with Fen in a market that they have successfully held for many years, GA has released a sniper rifle that can easily be used in a squad support role as well. The GA 40-40 comes with full ceramic casing and complete with its own laser painter, flash suppressor and 4,040m scope. One of the main advantages with the GA 40-40 is that it uses a similar 'pre-load' chamber to the GA58 auto pistol, allowing for a quick double fire. The GA40-40 also has the advantage that it can be switched to semi-automatic fire with ease and relatively good accuracy. As well as its standard 15 round magazine (compatable with the GA58) the GA40-40 can also use the same 40 round box clip that the GA740 utilises.

KPS Flak Cannon

"Short-range spread-fire weapon with kick-ass attitude, what more can you ask for?"

- Bubbles, SCL 5D, Female Frother Operative with HolySmoke squad.

Following the success of the Mangler, KPS offer a alternative weapon for those who like being 'up close and personal' to their targets. Based on one of their successful range of War-World anti-personel weapons, the Flak Cannon has been modified for use in more urban situations. Using special explosive cartridges the weapon propels armoured metal fragments at the opposition, quickly destroying armour in the process. During test it has been shown that this weapon can do extensive damage to all armour types including KAD-C types that Thresher use. The ability to fire the explosive cartridges before they detonate has been disabled in all Operative models of this weapon due to the current restriction on grenade launchers for non-military employees. It comes ready to fit laser painter, recoil bafflers and telesights.

KPS Flak Cannon: Explosive Launcher Enabled

To prevent the Operative Model from being used as a Grenade Launcher there are several internal components that have been removed from the current release version. It is rumoured that these weapons can be modified on the Black Market to allow for the Flak Packets to be ejected before they explode. The cost for this is unknown but is likely to be in the tens of thousands of UNIs. The Flak Packets would act with the following grenade profile: Blast Rating 12, PEN 12, AD as Blast Rating. Although the actual conversion would be unnoticeable unless the weapon was closely examined, the penalty for owning a grenade launcher is currently demotion to SCL10 and a close examination of the Operative's possible future within the company.

SP Razor Jack

"I thought the Vibro Disc was cool enough, but now we got a fully-automatic disc launcher AND with exploding ammo! I gotta get one of these!"

- Hot Knife, SCL 8B, Female Scout Operative with PuckerUp squad.

Proving that good guns don't have to make a lot of noise Scott Pelling Group has followed up their succesful Vibro Disc with the Razor Jack, a weapon that uses their patented EM Gauss Rail system. Stripping the weapon to its barest essentials the Razor Jack also uses new 50mm Discs allowing for a larger clip size than the Vibro Disc. With a design that uses two outward prongs to guide each round, the weapon can rapidly fire a three round spread of razor sharp ammo towards its target. One of the most significant changes with the Razor Jack is that two new kinds of ammunition have been designed. The standard round is a dense metallic disc similar to a scaled down version of the Vibro Disc. These rounds become fully charged by the EM field of the weapon allowing them to ricochet** with ease of any metallic surfaces. The second ammunition type uses the dense Tritium III binary explosive enclosed in an impact-destructive ceramic/carbon fibre disc. Once fired these rounds explode on impact causing significant damage to their target. The Razor Jack comes with an integral laser painter that can show all three guide paths of the automatic fire mode. An armour-mounted version of this weapon is currently in development.
