Standard Shiver Squads

A standard Shiver squad for street patrols is based around an eight man squad. Out of these eight, one will normally be a Corporal at SCL 10 who is the squad leader. In Uptown the squad will normally patrol in teams of two, mixing the less experienced with those that are more experienced. The squad will be assigned adjacent areas so that they can provide back up for each other. If the squad is assigned to DownTown it will normally split in to two squads of four, again working nearby areas so that the squad can provide back up as required.

Out of the eight squad members there are usually several key specialisations amongst the squad. Two of the Shivers will be trained in Paramedic and Forensic skills with basic knowledge of Pathology as well. They will be the Shivers in charge of any crime scene, ensuring that no evidence is lost whilst waiting for Operatives to turn up. The second specialisation is in weaponry, with two Shivers trained in Tactics, Weapons Maintenance and Demolitions Disposal. Their primary purpose is to ensure that the squads weaponry is always maintained in full working condition. Their knowledge of tactics is also used when the squad is under attack, allowing them to survive better against foes that out number them or have more powerful weaponry. The third specialisation is in the general scouting skills of Tracking, Sneaking and Disguise. Primarily used to follow suspects without being detected, these skills are also useful for gathering information on the streets. The final specialisation is that of dealing with the public. These Shivers are trained in Leadership, Persuasion and Diplomacy. These skills tend to be learnt by those Shivers that are looking at climbing up the ranks as quickly as possible.
